With a great title like “Vegas Must Die!” the first thing you do is check the story behind the cd. In the case of Jizzy Pearl’s new album the story behind it actually says it all. Old School Rock n’ Roller Pearl, known from his work with Love/Hate, L.A. Guns and Ratt, wrote the entire album locked up in Vegas where he was recovering from some bad experiences with women in the city of sin. All songs on “Vegas Must Die!” are about heartbreak, total loss and dark experiences.

Titles like “True Love”, “How’d I Get So Lonely” and “Lies” actually speak for themselves. Although I’m not the biggest fan of Pearl’s vocals, the rough edge suits the vein of the songs perfectly, this one comes from the heart, making it one of the better melodic metal albums in the past couple of months.
