Demons of Dirt were found back in 1999 under the name Engraved. When the line-up was completed in the course of 2000 the name was changed into Demons of Dirt. After two demo tapes, Demons of Dirt now releases there debut “Killer Engine” full of Swedish metal like bands as the Haunted and the later At the Gates combined with stoner metal we all might know from bands as Ozzy, Kyuss but also a band as Two Ton Predator. This actually is a combination that I do not hear that often, but it certainly tastes like more. | |
Just like Two Ton Predator Demons of Dirt mixes these two styles on a very natural way and the total sounds new, fresh and surprising. Up tempo Swedish metal riffs are combined with some more slower and grooving riffs. Vocalist Mikael almost sounds like Phil Anselmo that provides this release with some extra aggression. I guess Swedish metal heads who are fed up by the similarity of many releases this one might be something for you.
