The good news is that Peter Gabriel is back with his old friends from Genesis. The bad news is that they changed the band name into Hamadryad and that the music isn’t of the same quality as it was in the early days. “Safe In Confirmity” is one of Unicorn Digital’s latest releases and is filled with recognisable progressive rock tunes based on seventies prog rock bands. To be honest, most tracks could have easily been released in that decade and are in fact of high quality.

The dominant role of mellotron, the characteristic vocals, they all add up to the classical progressive sound. If you’re one of those proggies that thinks that there hasn’t been a decent progressive rock release since, lets say 1975, you will probably dig this one.
