This Dimension X review isn’t gonna be very positive. My main criticism is the attempt to create bombastic sounds and failing miserably with rather boring unwieldy music. There’s not a single keyboard or guitar solo in the world that can change the ponderous compositions. Another thing I don’t like is the fact that all individual instruments are from time to time dominant in the mix. The vocals on the album suit the music perfectly, which in this case is no compliment. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that this guy has some history in the early eighties with some obscure cult band, heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if these vocals were recorded in the eighties either. | |
It would be unjust to write that there is not a single piece of music on “So ... This Is Earth” I enjoyed, but these sections are usually the short instrumental intersections between the horrible vocals. This one would have scored higher if it were an instrumental album. (Geert) |
