Seven churches down in hell, in the land where Satan fell, where the winds cannot reach. There the tyrant`s might was born, monarch to the kingdom of the dead, Infamous butcher… Warriors gather slowly round the sacred city hell… At war with Satan!
Hailing the old metal gods, Thou art Lord trashes into you soundscape with their new album "Orgia Daemonicum". This ancient legacy is mixed with a powerful portion of ‘Rotting Christ’ and finished with a touch of raw, necrocannibalistic death metal. Overall, the band preaches this mixture with highly Satanic verses.
The Greek band began vomiting fast, loud, extreme and sinister music in 1993, producing a demo and two EP’s. After that, two full-length CD’s appeared called "Eosforos" (1994) and "Apollyon" (1995). | |
Since the band members, Sakis and The Magus, were obligated to put some time in their other bands (respectively Rotting Christ and Necromantia), Thou Art Lord was put on hold for several years. After seven years of slumber, the band was reanimated. This full-length is the second product after "DV8" (2002). Besides the band members Sakis (guitars, vocals) and the Magus (bass, vocals), the drums were performed by Themis, also a Rotting Christ member.
This CD really seems sort of a tribute to old school death/thrash metal, is technically well played, but not too original. People worshipping bands like Celtic Frost, old Slayer, Venom or Possessed could check this album out, though it’s probably even better to listen to the old school bands themselves.
