To be honest I have been slightly fed up with gothic rock lately. So I was rather sceptic when I put “Alice’s Inferno” into my cd-player. It didn’t take long though to figure out that this album was well worth listening to. The beautiful vocals of Lady Angellyca, the deep well trained grunts of drummer Edward (I’m no big fan of grunts, but these sound excellent) and the perfect balanced instruments: gothic metal like it is meant to be. | |
Some of the reasons why this album stands out are the symphonic orchestrations and the overall concept of the album. No awkward fictional story about futuristic or historic heroes but an emotional tale about Alice, being accused of killing her parents. Delightful album by Spanish gothic rockers Forever Slave.
