Well, the first thing that drew my attention is the cover of the album. I wrote some bad things about the cover of the previous Biss album “Joker In The Deck” so in this case I must make my first compliment, the cover of “Face-Off” is much better although the movie reference might be too obvious. Now the music. People familiar with the band probably will agree with me that the band has developed their style even further and sound more at ease with their music. Where some of the older tracks sound artificial and sometimes slightly sluggish the new tracks sound natural and fresh. | |
Every track has a distinctive sound partly due to the efforts of vocalist Marc Storace who makes his first appearance on a Biss album ever. The choice for Storace as new singer has taken Biss out of the grey masses of mediocrity. “Face-Off” features ten up tempo feel good melodic rock songs of equal quality making the album well worth listening to.
