Every Time I Die is a band that started in 1998. Soon they released a demo which had a lot of good reactions. In 2001 they signed a deal with Ferret music and they recorded their first full length: "Last Night In Town". The magazines Revolver and Alternative Press called this the best album of 2001. In 2003 they recorded their second album: “Hot Damn”. With the release of this album they toured all over the world and earned a spot at the 2004 Ozzfest. Pretty impressive biography, as far as I’m concerned.

“Gutter Phenomenon” is the third and newest album of this band. It’s a nice album, but for a band that made the album of the year in 2001 this album is a disappointing one.

The music is played nice but not good, the vocals of vocalist Keith Buckley are sometimes really out of tone. This isn’t the big breakthrough album this band hoped it was. Don’t get me wrong, the music is played well. But this albums misses something and in this time (there are a lot of metalcore bands who all make the same kind of music) you have to stay special, at least try to be different. In the earlier years they had something new that not every band did before. Every Time I Die didn’t grow since that time, they took the commercial train and that’s a pity.
