In the introduction of my review for the first Infinited Hate album “Revel In Bloodshed” (you can find it here ) I wrote that the band was formed just before the demise of Sinister because Aad (founding member of both bands) was tired of playing the same game for 18 years.
It struck me as irony that Sinister has been reformed just months before the release of the second Infinited Hate, although Aad no longer drums in it. I don’t know if this has any repercussions for Infinited Hate but we’ll see what the future brings us. In the meantime, let’s look at this album unbiased.
The debut album was recorded utilizing a drum computer but for the sophomore album Belgian Dirk Verbeuren (Scarve, Aborted, Soilwork) was hired to pound the drums. It may come as no surprise that his drumming brings a completely new dimension to the otherwise rather primitive sound of Infinited Hate.
The foundation is still a combination of old school death metal and US death metal with an emphasis on brutality. | |
after a short intro “Demonical Sepulture” is fired upon us and this track shows the blueprint for Infinited Hate songs: recognizable old school riffs, fast drumming and the brutal voices of Aad (without effects this time) and Rachel. Yes, Rachel (ex-Occult and ex-Sinister) is indeed female and it remains pretty weird but cool to hear a woman deliver such a crushing grunt.
”Heaven Termination” was recorded in the Excess Studios and the sound is three leagues better than on “Revel In Bloodshed”. Basically everything on his album is better than on its predecessor: the drums, the sound and the songwriting yet I personally still prefer the debut, which had a primitive attraction to it due to the effects on Aad’s vocals en the hammering drum computer. For the sake of objectivity I have to rate it higher because I truly think that Infinited Hate has grown since the last album
Oh yeah, the album contains an Unleashed cover: “Before Creation Of Time” which is pure old school madness.
