YOB

The Unreal Never Lived
4 tracks - playing time: 51:51 min.
Metal Blade
Rating: 3/10

Yob is for me a totally new band, never heard of it. This band, formed in 1996, plays doom. Four songs in 51 minutes. That’s to long for me (I saw NOFX once, they played 10 songs in one minute, but that’s something really different).

“The Unreal Never Lived” starts with some bomb explosion then an intro that takes 3 minutes and 30 seconds! And after 4 minutes Mike Scheidt (the founder and singer of this band) finally begins.

His voice is raw and doesn’t sound natural with the music they play.

The songs lasts almost 11 minutes and with some bridges and a long outro they try to hold my attention. Well, it didn’t work, after 2 minutes I get board with album. When a song lasts more then 5 minutes mostly of the time it gets tiring and by this band it’s definitely boring. I almost fell a sleep when I was listening.
