What happens if you put an Israeli-born female vocalist and a Jamaican-born female guitarist together? Right, you get Mahavatar. Both women share the same desire to utter their selves through music. Don’t expect a female fronted gothic rock band though; Mahavatar plays some decent mid-paced metal. I find it hard to classify their style of music, so I won’t even give it a try.
Fact is that Mahavatar have a good debut full length. | |
The vocals of Lizzy are very diverse. At first her vocals may remind you of Arch Enemy’s Angela, but Lizzy’s voice is more versatile. She uses aggressive vocals when needed, but at some laidback moments on the album, she uses a clean, melodic voice. The guitars are pretty laidback, but shelter some hidden aggressiveness, which is pretty cool.
Cool debut!
