The Lucifer Principle is a new band to me, but to my surprise these Dutch death metallers released a very good demo, titled ‘Burn!’. The demo contains five tracks, each of which contains a certain rock ‘n roll groove and yet has the aggressiveness of death metal. What really struck me when I listened to ‘Burn!’ for the first time was the clear production. The production is superb! There are a lot of ‘professional’ bands out there who have a sound that is not even close to this one.

The five songs on ‘Burn!’ remind me a bit of the mid-paced death metal of Bolt Thrower and newer Gorefest. The vocals on ‘Burn!’ are cool. Singer Erik has a brutal throat which he uses differently throughout the demo. Somebody give these guys a contract! There’s lot of potential in The Lucifer Principle!
