Auto-Auto is quite clear about their main taste. The art project wishes to ‘try to change and encourage change in your local community, thus from small changes ultimately making the world a better place for all of us to live in’. “Sounds Of A New Generation” is their electronic contribution to a better society. I doubt if their effort will gain any success. As always I’m not too impressed with this electronic release. No matter which album I play, every time the memory of old time MSX-games is dominant over the songs on the album. I just can’t listen to the music without thinking of games like “Chucky Egg” and “Atlantic Land”.

Overall “Sounds Of A New Generator” isn’t a bad album, but it never excites you either. This is plain standard electropop with all the synth sounds you would expect. The lyrics on the album might give you some inspiration although the society isn’t portrayed at its brightest; some of the lyrics were in fact quite depressing. The album features eleven tracks all based on an electronic beat with rather slow synthesizers desperately trying to create an atmosphere. Hardly any song stands out and the vocal melodies are all the same, turning “Sounds Of A New Generation” into a rather boring synthpop release.
