This second release is an ambitious follow-up to the very, very succesful debut album "As Long As You Want This" (over 160.000 copies sold!). Luckily, the Dutch band Kane decided not to follow the safe path of writing mainly sing-a-long songs like the well known hits on their first cd. Although these were solid and good songs, don`t let this be misunderstood. No, "SGYMI" features 12 compositions which for the bigger part differ a lot yet have the same typical Kane atmosphere. Responsible for this coherence is the voice from singer Dinand Woesthoff who wrote all the music & lyrics and co-produced the album. Love him or hate him, but this guy can really sing, he does know how to write great rock songs with an international touch and has a cool on stage performance.

Well, does this new record actually top "ALAYWT"? That`s really hard to say, because it`s so different. Hit songs like "Rain Down On Me" (aaahh, love this one, JG), "Let It Be" and the titletrack could also have been on the debut cd, but other compositions like "What If" or "Free" are truly something else. It ain`t heavy metal, but please go to your local recordstore and give this talented band a fair chance. If not then go to one of their live shows, they really do rock!
