According to my sources, Adramelech was an Assyrian god to which children were offered, who were sacrificed by throwing them into fire.
In Christian mythology, Adramelech is the president of the Senate of Demons, Chancellor of Hell and is generally depicted with a human torso and head, while the rest of the body is that of a mule or a peacock.

The band Adramelech however has a lesser mythical history: they were formed in 1991 in Finland and have since then only released 2 full lengths on Repulse Records (the predecessor to Xtreem Music) and a couple of splits and mini-cd’s. This sounds as they are a grindcoreband but Adramelech plays pure old school death metal.

Indeed, the band is from 1991 and thus was around when old school was still new school and the sound has much in common with the Swedish and Florida scene of that era.

No overly technical frivolities but straightforward groovy tracks with an occult touch to them.
The production is also in this tradition, a bit gritty and blurry at first listening but very suitable for this kind of music. This album would just sound not right with a modern production I guess.

Everything, even the artwork, on this release reminds of the early nineties without sounding outdated. Outdated has a negative ring to it while this is a fine release, let’s just call it old fashioned quality.
