As often, the formation of this band started out with an encounter between two musicians hanging around in a bar, getting to know each other and finding out that they have a musical click. Previous experiences made these guys decide on finding a bass player to complete the trio now known as Diggeth.

“One More Yesterday” is the first three track release by this Dutch metal band. The songs all evolved out of jams, resulting in interesting compositions with plenty of breaks. One thing I liked about the songs is the pop/rock reference. All the tracks have a catchy melody that reminds me of one or two pop/rock songs from the nineties.

The second track “Heavy Heart” for example has a similar feel to The Black Crows biggest hit “Remedy”, yet a bit more unpolished and of course slightly rougher.
The sound of the three tracks could have been more dynamic, the drums sound slightly high pitched from time to time. What I really like about the songs are the deep convincing vocals of Harald te Grotenhuis who, despite his ten year experience with his former band Wicked Mystic as a guitar player, never before took up the mic. In one word: promising.
