The first thing I noticed when I received the new Greg Koch album was that this man still hasn’t lost his sense of humor. The smile on man’s face in the booklet and the quick-witted lyrics from time to time pretty much sum up the feel of the album: relaxed rhythm and blues with some funky and funny elements.

The sound of the album is in one word excellent, the supporting bass and drums sound warm and give Koch enough room to stir things up with his steel guitar and his up-lifting blues.

“4 Days In The South” is a more than welcome alternation from the hard rock and metal releases I use to review and is therefore more than enjoyable to listen to.
