These Danish guys sure know how to impress and I can safely say that this is one of the better releases I’ve heard this year. “A Perfect Forever” is an album that is filled with great compositions, and already the opener “Sanctified” hits the nail right on the head. Strong riffs, great melodies and very good vocals. The sound is sober but still heavy and fits this style of metal perfectly without becoming cold and clinical.

Anubis Gate is by no means playing groundbreaking metal instead they concentrate on combining eighties power metal with nineties progressive metal and the result is very successful. You will hear elements of bands like Fates Warning, Queensr˙che, and even Dream Theater but Anubis Gate has succeeded in retaining their own sound and style.

Especially singer Torben Askholm does a great job with his very own sound and diverse vocals.

“A Perfect Forever” is one of those albums I can blindly advice to anyone who enjoys melodic metal. You simply can’t go wrong with this release. And when you think you’ve heard it all, Anubis Gate ends with the epic and majestic title track, a twelve minute long climax to the album. Best tracks: “A Perfect Forever”, “Sanctified” and “Future Without Past”.
