Roadrunner Roadrage 2005 is the third installment in this apparently successful series. The concept is pretty good I must confess, not very original but still very solid: 31 videos, a whopping 2 hours of Roadrunner bands for a mere twelve Euros.
I for one, who seldom watches television, had a good time watching this DVD. Not being forced to watch MTV and the continuous commercial breaks on it has its advantages, I even doubt it if every video will be played on television at all.
The broad musical spectrum of this DVD makes it difficult or even impossible to appreciate every single submission but some highlights are Slipknot’s videos for the tracks “Before I Forget” and “Vermillion” (great filming), Wednesday13 with “I Walked With A Zombie” (an ode to the horror movies from the fifties) and Devildriver (“Hold Back The Day”). | |
Other artists included are the usual well-known Roadrunner bands like Machine Head, Caliban, Cradle Of Filth, Soulfly and Fear Factory but smaller bands like Zao, A Life Once Lost and Betzefer can also be found. It goes beyond the limits of this review to give a full artist and tracklisting but you can believe me when I say that if you like Roadrunner bands in general and metalcore and hardcore in particular you’ll have a blast with Roadrage 2005.
