The second album by the Christian Tolle project is called “The Real Thing” and it features ten songs with guitars in the leading role. Despite the fact that this is a project based release and many great guitarists contributed, the album is remarkably consistent.
“The Real Thing” is actually a very decent album that combines modern rock with main stream in the vein of, for example, Toto.
I’m personally not that fond of Toto&Co and must admit that I wasn’t very impressed with “The Real Thing” eighter. | |
This is mainly due to the typical American sound. The sweetness of the compositions, the mastering and sometimes sluggish lyrics are things that are way off from my personal taste. Putting my personal preferences aside I’m pretty sure that this album will do excellent in the AOR community: the hard hitting and the midtempo beats, the power ballads and the catchy melodies and refrains will definitely get the adult rockers on their feet.
