I can positively say that this is one of the worst releases I’ve heard in the last couple of years. “Requiem For My Bride” starts with an atmospheric intro in the vein of King Diamond but fails miserably at setting the atmosphere. The female narrator has an awful accent and is too emotionless to begin with. All in all a terrible intro to an album that’s even worse.
The first real track, “Road To Hell”, pretty much displays everything that is wrong with this band; boring song structures with terrible vocals and an even worse accent than the female narrator from the intro. | |
While Hellfire tries to set the same kind of atmosphere as King Diamond it simply doesn’t work out. The production is weak, the songs are boring and it’s all too clinical to come anywhere near the work of the mastermind behind this type of metal. The only part I found remotely interesting was the outro of the final track “The Answer”. All in all a concept gone to hell and a very poor attempt at copying King Diamond. (Frank) |
