Holy crap dudes and dudettes! I never heard of Outcast before, but their debut album ‘First Call/Last Warning’ is fucking awesome! I didn’t receive any promotional information, but after a bit of research on the World Wide Web I found out that Outcast started out in 1998 under a different name. But after their MCD ‘The Source Of All Creation’ the band found their musical direction. Outcast call it thrash tinted death metal, I agree. It sounds a bit like a mix between The Haunted and Vader, but slightly different. You catch my drift?
The music style may sound a bit unoriginal, but I can tell you it isn’t. | |
This is a full-on thrash death album, with the necessary melodies integrated in the songs. Those melodic parts remind me of Death now and then, especially in ‘The Same Face From Passion To Hatred’.
The musicianship on ‘First Call/Last Warning’ is on a very high level. The guitarists play some killer riffs and have a couple of great solos up their sleeves. And I really dig the stuff the drummer does! Add a good production and you have a really kick ass album!
