Already Darkside exists 10 years and still they make death/doom metal. And again with this new album they deliver metal from this side of the spectrum. Although it has been said that Darkside incorporates more gothic/black metal features into their music. Nothing more than strange sounds from a keyboard player aren’t recognisable as being other than death metal. This same keyboard player is also the vocalist after former vocalist/bass player peter decided he had to focus all his energy on his bass (as the keyboard part wasn’t to extensive in comparison to the bass part). | |
Also the lead guitarist and drummer had left the band. When those were replaced, one could speak of a completely new Darkside. But no new music due to this line-up change. Still boring death metal; every time the track starts to get interesting, the riff is abandoned and is changed in a different one and so on and so on. There is better music than this, and adding a keyboard to death metal doesn’t make it a “completely new stile of music”. Every track on this cd just doesn’t cut it. (Matthijn) |
