Bolt Thrower have a long history of twenty uncalm years. The band was formed in 1986 by Barry Thomson (guitar) and Gavin Ward (bass). At first, they recorded two demos: “In Battle...” and “Concession Of Pain”.

A little bit later inspired by Sacrilege, Discharge, Slayer and Candlemass, the band released the first album “In Battle There Is No Law” recorded at Loco Studios in Wales in the summer of 1988. “Realm Of Chaos”, the band’s second studio album, was released on Earache Records in 1989. Bolt Thrower became known as one of the most powerful live acts around. Meanwhile, after several line-up changes, they continued recording. Next came “The IVth Crusade” (1992), “...For Victory” (1994) and “Mercenary”(1998) and “Honour, Valour, Pride” (2001) on Metal Blade Records.

Their 8th studio album “Those Once Loyal” is a well-balanced, well-produced, well-arranged masterpiece of those who know how to unleash the power! It’s the metal of the highest mark – heavy metal, with thrash and death incrustation. The gloomy “At First Light”, coiling like a snake “The Killchain”, electrified and lyrical at the same time “Granite Wall”, and the menacing ”Those Once Loyal” take you right into the heat of battle, to a war with false metal. These guys are excellent instrumentalists, so, it is a real pleasure for the legible ear to penetrate into all the details of this mystic music material.
