“Invulnerable” is already the fourth release of this Italian old school heavy metal quintet but truth be told I had never heard of them before until now. Everything surrounding this release screams old school. These Italians are not to be bothered with the modern forms of metal but are firm believers of the days of old.

It comes as no surprise that Centvrion delivers as promised; heavy riffs, raw vocals. All in all true heavy metal – bands like Manowar, Judas Priest and Accept come to mind. The production is pretty sober but it doesn’t hurt the music in the least. Germano’s vocals are excellent and definitely worth mentioning; he has the right type of voice with enough power and rawness but still enough reach to do the more melodic parts of the album.

My biggest problem with “Invulnerable” is repetition (especially the title track is pretty terrible). Some of the songs seem to drag on forever and turn into an endless repetition of the same chorus. While most of the songs are okay in their own right, the album as a whole tends to be slightly boring and could do with a bit more variety. It’s decent heavy metal but don’t expect anything new or outstanding or else you’ll end up being disappointed.
