Above The Struggle is back with a new name and a new cd. Rising Tide is their new name and the cd is called “Drift Away”.
A few years ago I saw Above The Struggle at the in your face fest in Hengelo. A pretty solid show, and some promising songs. However, after that I never heard from them again. Until a few weeks ago, when “Drift Away” landed on my doormat. It is dangerous to say this but: “Drift Away” is one of the better hardcore releases I’ve heard this year.

I wouldn’t say “Drift Away” is classic, but it’s a really nice cd.
Songs like ‘Silence ‘and ‘Measure’ are catchy and even have some metal influences in their sound (think i.e. of old Caliban). The cd is a mix of Sick of it All, Terror, Caliban (do not take this to literally) and a little bit of anthrax (some riffs).

Summary: Hopefully we will hear some more of this band, because the songs are good, and I think the live act and the presentation will be the same.
