The Finnish band Sinamore is completely new to me. When I received “A New Day” and took a look at the promotional copy, I saw on which record label this album was released. Maybe I’m a bit shortsighted, but I thought Napalm Records only released the more brutal sorts of metal.

Well, I was wrong about that. The music that Sinamore plays has nothing to do with black or death or any other brutal kind of metal. I really don’t know how to describe their style, but believe me; it’s awesome. On their website the band states: "Katatonia meets HIM while gangbanging Bon Jovi." Well, I think it`s a lousy description, because Sinamore is way better!
The vocals remind me from time to time a bit of Depeche Mode and the music harks back (well, the word ‘back’ is badly chosen I guess) to the later work of Paradise Lost.

There, you have it, a style definition. But despite the fact that I named a couple of references it doesn’t mean that the band doesn’t have an own identity, because they do have one. I really don’t know what I can add else to this review. Sure, the production is good and the song structure is great. Dear reader, just buy this album!
