Formed in 1997 by metal goddess Kimberly Goss (Ancient, Dimmu Borgir, Therion) and Jesper Strömblad (In Flames), Sinergy still produces solid ‘80s heavy metal only with a female singer. But don’t be mistake, her voice not gothic-like nor is it the female version of Bruce Dickinson; Kimberly is loud and in some songs it’s difficult to hear if there’s a man or a woman who’s performing. Together with Alexi Laiho (Children Of Bodom) and bass-player Sharlee Dángelo (Mercyful Fate, Witchery) and drummer Runny milianowicz, Sinergy recorded their debut album “Beware The Heavens”. After Runny, Jesper and Sharlee left the band, replacements were found in guitarist Roope Latvala (ex-Waltari), bassist Marco Hietala (Tarot) and drummer Tommi Lillman (To/Die/For). With this line up they made the Album “Hell And Back” and their latest offspring “Suicide By My Side”.

The Album starts with a spit followed by the first song “I Spit On Your Grave” and ends after only 38 minutes in “Remembrance”. Arguably the best track from the album is the powerballad “Written In Stone”. But the general idea one gets from this album is nothing new and little variation. Guitar solo freaks can go crazy on the ever perfect solo’s of Alexi, but these people can just as well listen to Children Of Bodom albums. Every single musician has proven her/him-self in the metal scene so no argument on quality and instrumental control or vocal perfection. Well produced this is an album with a high degree of perfection on music that has been written 1000 times before. Good heavy metal but by far nothing new.
