Korn is one of the biggest bands of the last century. They have created the so called “nu-metal” and almost everybody knows this band and has got an opinion about them. Some people only like the old songs from Korn and some people like nothing from them.
Korn is definitely a band with a major story and there’s no end. Last year guitar player Head left the band to find Jezus (go to www.headtochrist.com to see what is he’s doing nowadays). Three months ago I was one of the lucky ones to listen to “See You On The Other Side” pre-listening session, already the 7th Korn album. So I knew a little bit what I could expect with this album. This isn’t a new “Follow The Leader” or an (as some people say) old-school Korn album. This is the new (as I may call it that) Korn.

Korn is back.

The album starts with the very catchy “Twisted Transistor” (a review of the single is somewhere else on this site). The whole album is full of this kind of songs. It has got a more industrial sound, but the songs didn’t lose their Korn sound (low bass, bagpipes and the Jonathan Davis voice). My personal favourites are: “Politics”, “Hypocrites”, “Love Song”, “Coming Undone” and “Liar”. The last song (“Tearjerker”) is more a ballad where Davis sings the last fear from his body.
You’ve got to listen to this album a few times for loving it. So when you listen to it, take your time. So my last words for this review will be: Korn took a new road, who will follow?
