Only a few seconds underway and I get the feeling that this is just another one in a seemingly endless flow of average progressive metal releases of a band that likes to compare itself with the masters of prog Dream Theater.
Boy, Silent Voices proved me wrong, big time. This is one of the first releases I get to review where a band actually reaches high, so high that they can escape from the dooming shadow of Dream Theater.
Complex, very interesting, yet catchy compositions - truly reflecting the album title - characterized by powerful guitar play, solid drums and excellently melted together by high quality synthesizers. | |
“Building Up The Apathy” is composed with clockwork precision, every note is right on time, not a single note is superfluous (not taking into account the slightly weaker "Blood Of Eden").
Great intro’s, excellent brakes, powerful solo’s and most important: a real entity. These lads can be measured with the big boys now!
