I was positively surprised with the 3-track demo from Expulsion. Expulsion is five piece army from Groningen, the Netherlands. According to themselves they play over the top-, mean-, furious- and terrorist friendly thrash metal. Just the way thrash metal should sound!

‘The Mass Insanity’ is a high speed thrash metal assault blowing you straight back to the eighties with bands as Death, Kreator, Destruction and Slayer.
Three songs are a little less to get a good overview of a band. The songs on this promo are performed very well. It is very standard thrash metal, though mostly played at a very high level of speed.

Fortunately they don’t stare themselves blind on speed alone, Expulsion is not afraid to shift back to some mid-tempo riffs, or shift up to maximum overdrive (the way I like it best!!). The songs are packed with sharp hooks, breaks and killing thrash riffs. Finally they’ve added some blast beats witch gives it a more up to date sound.

Like I said three songs is a little less to get a good impression of a band, but according to the songs I’ve heard I anxiously await a full-length cd. I start to love their demo more and more each time I hear it.
