The description on the Unique Leader website’s artist section really says it all: ‘AEON – Swedish Brutal Death’. What we have here with “Bleeding The False” is Satanic brutal death metal the old-fashioned way. The first band that came to mind when listening the opening track “Soulburner” was the mighty Deicide; as the doubled vocals and the direct lyrical approach made comparing easy. Another big name that comes to mind is Cannibal Corpse; just listen to the third track “Biblewhore” and following that CC’s “Dormant Bodies Bursting” from the “Gore Obsessed” album. The third legendary name will ofcourse be that of Morbid Angel, that shows up in almost every death metal review and I can’t let it out this time; especially the weird solos remind heavily to Morbid Angel.

Does this mean that this is an unoriginal unnecessary release? Hell NO!
“Bleeding The False” kicks fucking ass! The tracks are insanely catchy, the rampaging drums put you in a trance and the blasphemous lyrics, although hilarious at times (‘Forced to fuck your god, He wants it up his ass, Heaven is for faggots, Christian Paradise’) are perfect material to growl along with, releasing all built up aggression for weeks to come.

The overpowering production is an added bonus to “Bleeding The False”. It’s not the most balanced cd I ever heard (the drums are triggered to the max) but the focus is clearly on the vocals and those sound gruesome. They’ve had time enough to perfect this, by the way, because the recordings took place over a 2-year period (2003-2004) and the mastering and mixing took the same amount of time.

Luckily grim Satanic death metal musicians still can possess some (twisted) humour judging the fact that after the outro a hidden/bonus track is placed, which is a country version of the track “God Gives Head In Heaven”. What a way to present yourself on the American market.

The reviews so far show that the efforts of these Swedes have been appreciated and they can add this high rating to the others. I only hope that the second album will take less time to be completed.
