This American quartet from Indianapolis comes pretty much from out of nowhere. The band seems to have been caught up in maelstrom, because despite having nothing much to show for, Demiricous were right away signed by Metal Blade. With that in mind, I had high expectation concerning the debut of these thrashers.

The opening “Repentagram” doesn’t disappoint and pretty much sets the standard for the rest of the album. At first you are wondering whether you are listening to old school Slayer but that definitely isn’t the case. “Withdrawal Divine” continues down this path; pure old school thrash metal with great riffs, Slayer like solos and a no nonsense production.

This shit hits you straight in the face like a ten ton hammer. The vocals are rough, aggressive and full of the right attitude.

Demiricous harken back to the glory days of thrash metal and only a few bands still remain that deliver the same kind of authentic and sincere feeling (Exodus comes to mind). Sure, there’s absolutely nothing new on “One”. It has been done a hundred times before, but the fact remains that true thrash metal these days is hard to come by, and Demiricous definitely deliver.
