The label Elektrohasch brought stoner rock under my attention for the first time. I never thought that I could feel any affection with this genre, but after getting familiar with bands like Los Natas, Colour Haze and The Kings Of Frog Island, Nixon Now is the next in line to convince me with their high energy Detroit stoner rock.

This German motor city gang will blow you away with their raw yet delightful rock in the vein of Hellacopters, MC5 and The Stooges. ‘Altamont Nation Express’ is the band’s second album and shows the band combining psychedelic melodies with up tempo garage punk: explosive music with a real feel to it.

The band had no trouble coming up with fifteen short songs all with an own identity, quite an achievement in itself. The fifteen also include two covers, one being the excellent ‘Car Wash’ originally recorded by Chic.

‘Altamont Nation Express’ is yet another great album of the high quality catalogue of Elektrohasch. This one comes highly recommended.
