What can you aspect when an editor wrote in an e-mail that he received a demo belonging to the death metal-dance hybrid genre. I was very curious when I read that and I received the Schizmatic EP from the Dutch band Next Waste Dimension.
After hearing it one time I thought: “maybe this is the first time I can say in a review that a band has got influence from DJ Tiesto”. Next Waste Dimension plays aggressive sounding metal with some nice brutal vocals. In the music you can hear some synths and in the middle of the songs there’s coming up a beat. When I closed my eyes I think I was in the worst disco in a small town with a lot of dancing farmers (you know what I mean?). | |
The EP contains three songs. The last song on this EP is a Prodigy cover (No Good [Start The Dance]) or they use a sample of the song. Personally I don’t like the version from Next Waste Dimension but I do like the original.
Next Waste Dimension isn’t my band. They try to be original but they really don’t sound that way in my opinion. When you want to use dance influences in metal music you need to use better dance beats and not some cheap Tiesto shit.
