Mindfold is a young band from the Netherlands but they already had some nice and fine gigs on their list. For example they played at the oldest festival from Europe; Pinkpop last year. So now it’s time for their break through?
With “Long Roads” Mindfold has got a strong debut album. The music Mindfold plays is hardrock with a lot of emo influence. There are not many bands of which I like the clean parts. By this band I like the clean parts too, vocalist Remco Essers has got a nice voice for both parts (screaming and clean).
The strongest thing of this album is that Mindfold uses acoustic and hard played music in the same numbers. | |
While listing the album you hear that this is not just an ordinary band which stole its sound from some popular bands. This band has got an own sound with some influences from Face Tomorrow, Green Lizard, Intwine, Hell Is for Heroes and more of that stuff.
Mindfold can become a big band so the Dutch label Squash Records did a good thing signing this band.
Check out the band somewhere in your area, because this a very good debut and I think they rock live on stage. And maybe this year will be that of their big break through.
