The debut album of Irish rockers Glyder brought a smile on my face. It’s not that their music is funny, but listening to the album, the info leaflet proved to be hylarious. ‘Rock star poses and empty sounds seem to be the way that some rock/metal/whatever is these days. Ireland’s Glyder seem to have tasked themselves with superhuman powers extending through whipping riffs, blending chords, handsome stances and a flux of lyrics combusting on all classic rock.’ Hylarious! The music I’m listening to lacks character and therefor I can’t imagine a single pose to be fit.

The sound might be full, the songs themselves are hollow shells with occasionaly one or two corny classic rock theme’s. Glyder failed miserably in their attempt to be superhuman. I know I’ve had to listen to albums far worse than this self titled debut, but the lack of self knowledge and the arrogant info leaflet makes it simply impossible to keep an indepentend view.
