Only twenty eight years of age, Joe Bonamassa proves that he’s one of the leading blues (rock) guitarists of the first decennium of this new century. His sixth album ‘You & Me’, has quality written all over it. For all of you who think that blues is old fashioned, I challenge you to listen to the blues rock of this Yank.
The album has plenty of highlights, but the true genius lies in the entirety. Power blues, alternating to slow blues, a definite rock edge and excellent soloing, it all adds up perfectly. | |
The album has been produced by Kevin Shirley, who’s also known for his work with Joe Satriani and Led Zeppelin. The last band plays another role on ‘You & Me’ by the cover ‘Tea For One’, which features a full orchestra.
‘You & Me’ has got emotions as well as balls, and is one of the best releases of 2006 so far.
