Metalblade is singing a lot of metal- and hardcore bands nowadays. They even have a new name for this genre: New Hate. There’s also a song from Born From Pain (also Metalblade) called New Hate. There’s a Dutch proverb: forge the metal when it’s hot. And Metalblade is doing that.

Phoenix Mourning is definitely a band which creates the new hate. They bring us a nice mix of metalcore and emo, call this emocore and a new genre is born (or does exist already?).

This debut album is full of moshparts, nice and catchy guitar riffs and brutal screaming.

The difference between this and a lot of other metalcore albums is that singer Jeremiah Ruff sings a lot of clean parts and when he sings the clean parts it sounds really good.
You can compare this band with Unearth, As I Lay Dying, If Hope Dies and more on the New Hate Metalblade roster.
