The past of couple of years Germany has proven to be a fertile soil for darkest and most evil exponent of metal. Aeba, a band that has been around since the early Nineties, recently released their third album Rebellion-Edens Asche. And again the all too familiar blackmetal formulas have been eagerly applied resulting in a combination of piercing riffing, blastbeats, moody key-parts and icy scream, well you know the drill by now. But Aeba have mastered the art and as the band possesses the ability to produce catchy guitarriffs this new album is certainly worth a listening session for the not too demanding and insatiable fan. | |
For those that have been there, seen it and done it all Rebellion-Edens Asche won’t add that much to your CD collection. In that respect the album just offers too little innovative stuff or surprising elements and with it’s flat and somewhat blurry production it is not an easy task to keep your attention throughout the 7 songs (the album clocks close to 70 minutes!).
