“Misanthropia”
We are Misanthropia, make a riot, let them cry!
This is Misanthropia, what’s that smell, something died?
[…]
Beware when the warriors of Misanthropia come to get you,
for the last ride to hell!

Misanthropia was born from the band Throned by Tyranny, the former band of some of the Misanthropia members. Throned by Tyranny was formed in 2001 and has produced two demo’s: “Into Blind Cover” (2001) and “Yedina” (2002). After some line up changes the band changed its name to Misanthropia in 2004. The current line up consists of Bram Koller (Vocals - Guitar), Dennis Schoenmaker (Gitaar), Maurice Aalders (Bassguitar), Sarban Grimminck (Drums) and Thijs Mulders (Keyboard).

“Rise of Necropolis” is their debut album.

Misanthropia is another melodious dark/black metal band in the vein of Skyfire or Embraced. The keyboard melodies and guitar riffs create a full doomy atmosphere that create a bombastic and epic feeling. Floating guitar solos and ‘happy’ piano parts give a touch of mystery to the music. Sadly, the drums sound a bit metallic, like hitting a tin can. Instruments are played well though. The songs aren’t very different from each other and the music isn’t too original. Overall, the music really isn’t to my taste at all, but melodious black metal isn’t my ‘cup of tea’ anyway, far too much sugar. Suitable for the not so depressed or hateful black metal zombies!
