No so long ago I re-discovered Illdisposed`s `1-800 Vindication`, which is a great album in my opinion. Not long after that I received the request to review their latest album, `Burn Me Wicked`. Since I rated `1-800 Vindication` pretty well, I was very, very curious on their newest album. Well dear reader, Illdisposed didn`t disappoint me.
The promotional flyer that came with the album says that `Burn Me Wicked` starts were `1-800 Vindication` left off. And that`s true! The album kicks off with `Shine Crazy`, a brutal and up-tempo song. `Case Of The Late Pig` is a bit more mid-tempo, but it`s still brutal. | |
`Burn Me Wicked` goes on like that, but it never bores me!
Vocalist Bo Summer not only uses a deep death grunt, but sometimes uses more high pitched screams and that gives an extra dimension to the music. Talking about extra dimensions, on four of the songs the clean vocals are done by Mikkel Sandager, known from Mercenary. You immediately recognize him en he really adds something to the songs!
All in all, `Burn Me Wicked` is a killer album that no one should miss! (Lars) |
