Another Avispa release... I haven’t been too kind about the last couple of releases by this Spanish label. For a moment it looked like this Basico album was going to be no exception. The sound is slightly flat and the vocals are a bit too expressive for my liking. Yet, this Spanish band plays some bustling melodic rock that works perfectly on a sunny summer evening. Hardly any bombast, nice melodies and friendly guitar solos. Even the vocal melodies and the Spanish lyrics go down well.

As a matter of fact, listening to the album makes me long for a vacation in Basico’s home country.

Of course most of the tracks are from the book. Don’t expect any real surprises. This makes this album easy to listen to and this is probably how it was meant. There are only two things I don’t like about this album. The fading out of most of the tracks and the poor album cover.
