Fatum is living prove that even label signed bands can sound crappy on CD. The sound is flat and the dynamics are low and spoil most of what there is to enjoy on the album. This obviously didn’t prevent Avispa to release ‘Roto’.
With a little bit more attention, a proper recording session and some fine tuning here and there, ‘Roto’ could be enjoyable. There are a few songs on it that have real potential. ‘Fe’ for example reminds slightly of the music that The Gathering made, known far beyond the Dutch borders.

The female vocals of Veronica Donna are a definite plus and pleasant to listen to. The band shows different sides and have taken the opportunity to experiment occasionally. Some of these experiments, especially the samples, need some attention, but all in all the band shows some good idea’s. With proper recording and mastering this release would have scored at least 1,5 points higher.
