“Back To The Grave” is a compilation album. A warm up for the release of the new Flaming Sideburns album, to be expected in the shops in October of this year. The twelve track disc features two new songs (sounding most promising), a couple of covers (Lou Reed, The Wailers and The Troggs among others) and some rare b-sides.

What I particularly like about this compilation (I hate them usually) is the way that these Finnish rock ‘n rollers, groove in the spirit of MC5 and The Stooges and manage to create an entity.

Quite an achievement considering the fact that the songs were recorded over a long period of time. I know that the main target for this release is to get the fans excited about the upcoming new album (they succeeded big time), but in my opinion this alone doesn’t justify “Back To The Grave”, one of the better compilation albums I’ve got to review. Well worth checking out!
