Writing a review of a live album is easy. You don’t have to analyse the music and you don’t
have to compare the album to previous releases. All that concerns the reviewer is how good does the
album sound. Well, in this occasion I can be very short. Reck Derringer’s “Live At Cheney Hall” sounds
almost exactly how you want it to sound. Clear guitars, beautiful vocals (especially the backing vocals sound
perfect) combined with some nice interaction with the crowd all add up to the true live feel. | |
The only
small point of criticism is that the overall sound might be slightly too high pitched. “Live At Cheney Hall” was
recorded back in 2002 and will also be released on a DVD. The album features a collection of Derringer classics among which
the hit singles “Real American, “Hang On Sloopy” and “Rock & Roll Hoochie Koo”. This is a safe buy
for all Derringer fans. (Geert) |
