Dutch rockers Mennen were in the States to record their soon to be released new studio album “Planet Black”. They decided to do some gigs in the area while they were there. Since all the recording machinery was avalable they took the oppertunity to use it to record a live album. “Freakalive” is the proof that this was a clever idea. The eleven track disc was recorded at The Poison Room in Cincinnati. The band sounds as I remember them (I’ve seen them on stage a couple of times).

Dedicated to their music, truly living the live experience and convincing from start to finish. The liner notes state that the new studio album will be the bands heaviest album yet. This already shows on the live album. Even the older songs sound more edgy, more powerful, pimped if you like. I’m looking forward to “Planet Black”.
