The Noble Art of Wasting Time is the debut album of the Italian Hard Rock band Monkey Business. The band, founded in 2001, was an idea of Yari Lanci (drums) and Dario Crocetta (guitar). They completed the line-up with Lello Miele (guitar), Attilio Barbato (bass) and Valerio Sciascia on vocals.

This debut-album sends out a common passion from the musicians for hard rock music. Highlights are the opening track “Wake up and Rock”, which is very catchy and nice to sing along, and the tremendous “I smell the perfume”, which gives me goose bumps.

It’s a calm track, with tremendous vocals and a nicely done guitar solo in the middle.

There aren’t any real minus points I can name, though I have to mention the album wasn’t surprising anymore after a few tracks, with exception of “I smell the perfume”. All the tracks are catchy and good assembled, but they aren’t that special. I should say it`s a nice debut, but maybe they can be a bit more surprising the next time.
