After Poland, Brazil and many others Relapse thought it was time to release a compilation of Czech extreme metal bands. And they succeeded, although. Most of the bands on this release sound very extreme except for Contrastic who really should not have been on this release. Imperial Foeticide kicks of this release with an extreme piece of well sounding death grind, influenced by bands as the early Cryptopsy and Cannibal Corpse only less complicated. The second band is Negligent Collateral Collapse. NGC plays a combination between extreme death and thrash metal. But the vocals of Paul who really sounds as a low voiced pig personally annoyed me. But on the last few songs he more sounds like Chris Barnes (SFU). The later songs also seem to have some crust influences. Next up is Contrastic with some very annoying piece of experimental power thrash with hardcore influences samples and even some Hip - Hop influences. And if there is one kind of extreme music that annoys me Contrastic certainly has a chance. Even the Les Claypool (Primus) a like bass lines get on my nerves. | |
For the Nu - Metal fans this could be something to check out. One of the better bands on this release is Intervalle Bizarre. The extreme death grind sounds tight and really kicks ass. For fans of the old Dying Fetus and Gorguts this band certainly is worth to check out. The many breaks, the good production and musical abilities of the band-members make these five songs worth the attention. Last but certainly not least is Fleshless, probably the band with the biggest reputation. Fleshless plays a nice sounding mixture of death thrash and even a little black metal. The songs sound pretty catchy, caused by the melodies, and sound very tight. Cannibal Corpse meets the old Impaled Nazarene (in some way) and of course their own touch. All in all we can conclude that Czech also possesses some great extreme death bands and this is a good way for us to get notice of them. But metal heads, go check out the surprise of this release: Intervalle Bizarre.
