Yay, a new Type O Negative album. Well, it`s not really new; it`s a Best Of. Their second to be exact. As a Type O fan you`ll probably want to know if there`s anything new on this compilation. The answer is short: no. Only the Deep Purple cover Highway Star was never released on one of their studio albums, which was on the NASCAR `Crank It Up` CD.

So, nothing new really. On the other hand, Type O never bores me. I love their music and lyrics. `The Best Of` kicks off with `Unsuccessfully Coping...` which has the lovely "I know you`re fucking someone else" sing-a-long part. Too bad that`s the only pick from `Slow, Deep And Hard`. It would have been great to see `Prelude To Agony` or `Xero Tolerance` on this compilation. Also the songs that are picked from `Bloody Kisses` could have been better. Sure, it`s my opinion, but I prefer `Kill All The White People` or `We Hate Everyone` over the edited versions of `Christian Woman` and `Black No.

1`. Actually, it`s quite a lousy choice of songs. There`s so many songs to choose from and the people at Roadrunner Records pick two edited songs and some songs that are okay, but are not the best of Type O Negative. For instance, no `Wolf Moon` or `Haunted`, no `All Hallow`s Eve` of `Pyretta`s Blaze`, no `I Like Goils`. Well, you probably catch my drift by now.

To make a long story short, it`s not a bad album. But I would`ve picked some other songs. It`s not the fault of the band, but I guess some people at Roadrunner are to blame. On the other hand, it is a pretty decent album for people who are interested in the band and don`t want to take the risk of buying a studio album.
